Fourth FerrOs Retreat: Great to meet you all in Toulouse!

On April 22nd, we met in Toulouse/France for our 4th FerrOs Retreat. Since the European Iron Club Meeting this year took place in Toulouse from April 23rd to 26th, we used the chance to interact with international experts and combined it with our fourth FerrOs retreat.

We proudly present the new article by Philipp Kastl, Sandro Altamura, Martina Muckenthaler, and Ursula Klingmüller from our FerrOs Research Group on "Erythropoietin-driven dynamic proteome adaptations during erythropoiesis prevent iron overload in the developing embryo" that was just published in Cell Reports (https://www.cell.com/action/showPdf?pii=S2211-1247%2822%2901192-5).

Second FerrOs Retreat: Finally, the whole FerrOs team got together in person!

On June 29th – July 1st we met in Riederau at the Ammersee at our 2nd FerrOs Retreat. Since we were not able to meet face-to-face at our 1st retreat, we were all more than happy to get together in real life and listen to the presentations of our eight FerrOs projects.

April 23 is International FOP Awareness Day 2022!!

Since the University of Pennsylvania announced their breakthrough discovery of the FOP gene ACVR1 at April 23, 2006, this date is now celebrated as International FOP Awareness Day! This year marks the 16th anniversary of the discovery of the FOP gene meaning 16 years of hope, progress and determination to find a cure.
