Congratulations to Dr. Maria Ledesma Colunga from Dresden!
We are proud to share that Maria Ledesma Colunga, PostDoc in the BoneLab and recipient of our FerrOs start-Up Grant, was awarded for the second-best oral presentation at the European Iron Club Meeting in Toulouse in April 2024.
In her talk entitled “Assessing the involvement of transferrin receptor 2 (Tfr2) in intestinal inflammation and bone loss during experimental colitis” she focused on a protective role of Tfr2 in the progression of colitis and colitis-induced bone loss. Well done, Maria!
During the last years, Maria gained great experience in studying cell metabolism. She is very active in the bone and iron field, has given several talks and obtained travel grants for her research on iron and bone. Recently she has been appointed into the Junior Board of the BioIron Society showing her high visibility in the international iron and bone communities. Keep up the good work, Maria!
